As soon as the door closes, Shinya’s ears are
strained for any sound of screaming or a thump.
It doesn’t take long for Mika to meet him in front,
but it’s still a little difficult for him to breathe a sigh
of relief. He’ll just slap on a fond smile and call it a
day.“Of course – you took so long I thought about
running there and back by myself,” he teases, gently
poking the blond’s forehead with his index and middle
finger. There’s no real need to make this trip take
longer than it’s supposed to, he decides, and starts
walking. Plus, taking their time might stress Mika out,
what with his dad and all. Then he snaps his fingers. “Aaah, you could pick out
a few snacks yourself this time,” Shinya says, looking
all the more excited.
☆彡 Mika had sneaking out almost down to an art; only unforeseen variations in his parents’ schedules got him caught, and even that didn’t happen very often. It’d be several hours before either of them were due home, and that was plenty of time for a nice walk and to eat some snacks.
At the teasing, the boy just smiled and laughed a bit. He kept up the elder’s pace as they walked. “That sounds good,” he chirped. It almost felt weird, though, to be outside with another person like that. Sure, he’d spoken to people in the park and whatnot, but leaving his own house with another person was strange to him. As far as he could recall, his parents had never taken him anywhere. “Hey Shinya, what kinds of ice creams are there?”
